Dedicated Learning Support for Hearing Impaired Students of The Lepra India Trust

This page is a humble and heartfelt initiative to support the students of The Lepra India Trust, especially those who are hard of hearing.

A very special note of gratitude goes to Ms. Jayashree Jayaraman, Director of The Lepra India Trust. Her vision, guidance, and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in building this bridge between Udgam Welfare Foundation and The Lepra India Trust. Her commitment to empowering hearing-impaired children and improving their access to quality education continues to inspire everyone involved in this mission.

Since 2012, Lepra India Trust has been implementing an important initiative that provides special education and speech therapy to more than 150 children with hearing impairments, primarily from financially underprivileged families. Catering to children between the ages of 3 and 18, the program works to close educational gaps by offering personalized speech therapy sessions alongside tailored academic support.

Hearing Impairment – Key Facts: Hearing loss poses considerable challenges for children and youth around the world, affecting their learning, communication skills, social interactions, and career prospects. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 430 million people globally—of which 34 million are children—need hearing rehabilitation. Estimates suggest that by 2050, this number will rise to over 700 million, with the majority living in low- and middle-income nations.

The content on this page includes high-quality bilingual educational material in English and Mathematics. All study resources are carefully designed to ensure better conceptual clarity, with a special focus on hearing-impaired learners. Each topic is presented in simple language and includes visual aids wherever possible.

📝 Online tests are also provided to help students evaluate their understanding and reinforce their learning. These tests act as self-assessment tools and are available in bilingual format for ease of use.
